Low-stock alerts that catch it before the job site does

The usual story: you find out you are out of anchors when the crew is already on the ladder. Set a minimum once and StockZip flags the item the moment a count crosses it — so you reorder before the shelf is empty, not after.

stockzip.app
StockZip inventory grid showing item cards with on-hand quantities and stock-status labels

Every item card shows its on-hand count and stock status — so what is running low is obvious at a glance, not buried in a spreadsheet.

Three steps, no setup project

How it works

01 · Set a minimum

Add a minimum stock level per item — one at a time, or for hundreds of items at once from the list view. That threshold is your reorder point.

02 · Counts update as you work

Every scan, add, remove, or count adjusts the on-hand number — on the phone in your pocket, and offline in the stockroom, syncing when you are back on signal.

03 · It surfaces before you run out

Once a count reaches the minimum, the item drops into your low-stock views and reorder suggestions, so whoever does the buying sees it before the peg hook is bare.

Everything you need in one place

Low-stock views

Keep attention on the items at or below their minimum instead of scrolling the whole catalogue to find what needs a reorder.

Location awareness

If your stock is organised by location, review where an item is short so the right team responds — not just that a total is low somewhere.

Low Stock report

A purchasing checklist you can export: every item below its reorder point, with its current quantity and the threshold you set.

Bulk reorder points

Set minimums across hundreds of items at once from the list view, so a new catalogue is protected in one pass rather than item by item.

Reorder suggestions

Items that have crossed their minimum are gathered into reorder suggestions, ready to act on before shortages interrupt the day.

Reorder context

Current quantity sits next to the threshold you set, so you can tell at a glance what needs ordering first and how far under it is.

Frequently asked questions

How do I set a reorder point for an item?
Open the item and set its Minimum Stock level. When the on-hand quantity reaches or drops below that number, StockZip treats the item as low stock and surfaces it in the low-stock views.
How will I know when something is running low?
Low-stock items appear in dedicated low-stock views and in reorder suggestions, and they are flagged on the item itself. You check the low-stock list — or the Low Stock report — instead of hunting through the full catalogue.
Does low-stock tracking work across multiple locations?
Yes. If your inventory is organised by location, StockZip helps you see where an item is short so the right team can respond, rather than only telling you a company-wide total is low.
How do I calculate the right reorder point?
Base it on how fast you use the item and how long resupply takes. A simple starting formula is: Reorder Point = Average Daily Usage × Lead Time in Days + Safety Stock. Tune it as you learn your real lead times.
Can I export a low-stock list for purchasing?
The Low Stock report lists every item below its reorder point with the current quantity and threshold. Export it and use it as the checklist for your next purchase order.
Do low-stock counts update when I scan offline?
Yes. Scanning and count changes work offline in the stockroom and sync when you are back on signal, so the on-hand numbers your low-stock views rely on stay current once the phone reconnects.
Is low-stock tracking available on the Free plan?
You can set a minimum stock level on any item on every plan, including Free. The Low Stock report and reorder-suggestion tasks are part of the paid plans — see the pricing page for the exact tier.
