Built for the way you work

What it handles

General pharmacy and medications

Track your general pharmacy — non-controlled medications, vaccines, and flea-and-tick — as items with a count and a minimum, and scan each one out as it is dispensed so the shelf count stays honest. Controlled drugs are the exception: StockZip is not a controlled-substance log, so keep DEA-required controlled-drug records in a compliant controlled-substance log (see the FAQ).

Consumable clinical supplies

Sutures, syringes, catheters, bandaging, and prescription diets run down quietly between orders. A minimum on each surfaces the low ones in your low-stock view before a procedure or a client pickup comes up short.

Equipment and shared tools

Track clippers, otoscopes, and shared instruments as items in their own folder. On a paid plan, check-in / check-out shows which room or technician has a shared tool right now, instead of a hunt through the treatment area.

Scan → track → reorder

How it flows

01 · Scan it in

Add medications, supplies, and equipment by scanning the barcode with your phone, and drop each into a folder — pharmacy shelf, treatment room, surgery. The clinic is organized from the first box.

02 · Adjust as you use it

As stock is dispensed or a shelf is restocked, adjust the count from the phone — add, remove, and log the reason. The stock record and its movement history stay current without a paper log for general inventory.

03 · Let minimums flag the gap

Set a reorder point on the meds and supplies you cannot run out of. When stock drops to it, the item surfaces in your low-stock view, so nothing quietly hits zero before a full day of appointments.

04 · Reorder from real usage

Instead of over-ordering and letting stock expire on the shelf, work from what is actually low. Your reorder becomes a quick, confident list built from real usage, which is where most of the waste savings come from.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use StockZip for controlled-drug (DEA) logs?
No. StockZip is not a controlled-substance log and is not built for DEA controlled-drug recordkeeping. Federal and state rules require a compliant controlled-substance log with the specific fields, signatures, and reconciliation those regulations demand, and StockZip does not provide that. Keep your controlled-drug records in a purpose-built, compliant controlled-substance log. Use StockZip for your general, non-controlled inventory: medications, vaccines, supplies, and equipment.
Is StockZip a PIMS?
No. StockZip is not a practice information management system: it has no patient records, scheduling, billing, or medical records. It is inventory only — general medications, supplies, and equipment, with scanning, reorder points, and an audit trail. Run it alongside the PIMS you already use.
How do I cut inventory waste and catch expiring stock?
Set a reorder point on each item so you stop over-ordering, which is where most expiry waste starts. To record lot numbers and expiry dates on a shelf so you use the oldest first, use lot tracking, which is a Pro feature. Low-stock alerts are included on every plan, including Free; the Low Stock report and reorder-suggestion tasks are part of the paid plans.
Can my whole clinic use it?
The Free plan is single-user. Add your veterinarians and technicians on a paid plan — Starter includes three users — with role-based, location-scoped access. Every add, remove, and adjustment is logged with who did it, when, and why, so general inventory has a full audit trail.
What does it cost for one practice?
StockZip is free forever for up to 100 items with no credit card, which covers a small single-location clinic. When you outgrow it, Starter runs $14.99/month billed annually for up to 2,000 items and three users, and your signup price is your renewal price. See the pricing page for the full breakdown.
