Set up in three steps

01 · Generate a scoped API key

In StockZip go to Settings → Integrations → API Keys, choose the scopes you want (read-only or write), and create the key. The API is available on the Pro plan and up.

02 · Wire the key into OpenClaw

Paste the key into your self-hosted OpenClaw config and load the StockZip tool definition so the agent knows which inventory operations it can call.

03 · Message your agent

Send your first message on WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack or wherever your team talks — OpenClaw runs the operation against StockZip and reports back.

Is the OpenClaw integration available yet?
It is in early access. The StockZip REST API and scoped API keys are live and power the StockZip web and mobile apps today, and we are rolling out documented OpenClaw setup account by account. Join the list and we will help you wire it up as the rollout reaches you.
What is OpenClaw?
OpenClaw is an open-source AI agent that you self-host on your own infrastructure. It connects to messaging platforms and can call external tools and APIs, so it can run real tasks from the chat apps your team already uses rather than a separate dashboard.
Which plan do I need?
The StockZip REST API is a Pro-plan feature, stated up front like every StockZip feature. Free and Starter accounts can join the early access list and upgrade to Pro when they are ready to connect an agent.
Is it as accurate as using the StockZip app directly?
It uses the same REST API that powers the StockZip web and mobile apps — the same validation rules, the same state machines and the same audit trail. A PDF requested through chat is the same document you would download from the dashboard. There is no separate “lite” data path.
Is my inventory data safe?
OpenClaw is self-hosted on your own infrastructure and connects to StockZip through scoped API keys you control. Keys are SHA-256 hashed on creation (plaintext is never stored), every action is logged with a timestamp and key ID, and each tenant is isolated at the database level with row-level security. You can revoke any key instantly from your settings.
Can I limit what the agent is allowed to do?
Yes. API keys carry scopes, so you can issue a read-only key that checks stock and pulls documents but cannot change a number, or a write key for receiving and picking. You choose what each key can touch and can change or revoke it at any time.
Does it cost extra?
The StockZip API is included in the Pro plan at no additional cost. OpenClaw itself is free and open-source and you self-host it; the only variable cost is your own AI model API usage, which you pay to your model provider.
