How StockZip works with Claude

01 · Ask about your inventory

Use normal language: “What is low on stock?”, “Which folders do I have?”, or “Move the receipt books to the Stockroom.”

02 · Claude picks a StockZip tool

The connector provides eight inventory tools. Reading tools run straight away. Tools that change stock are marked as changes, so Claude asks for your approval first.

03 · StockZip applies your account rules

Every request uses your own StockZip login, workspace and role. Changes are recorded under your name in the normal activity history.

Connect in three steps

01 · Add a custom connector in Claude

In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector. Name it StockZip. Menu names can change between Claude versions. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner may need to add the connector first.

02 · Enter the StockZip address

Paste https://app.stockzip.app/api/mcp as the server URL and save. Leave any client ID and secret fields empty; StockZip registers Claude automatically.

03 · Sign in and select Allow

Select Connect, sign in to StockZip, check the workspace name, and select Allow. Back in Claude, start a new chat and ask “What is low on stock in StockZip?”

Frequently asked questions

Which StockZip plan do I need?
The connector uses StockZip API access, which is available on Pro and Ultra. A Pro trial also works while it is active. On other plans you can still connect, but each request returns an upgrade message.
Does Claude ask before it changes my stock?
Yes, by default. Tools that check stock out or in, change a quantity, or move an item are marked as changes, so Claude asks for your approval first. In Claude’s connector settings you can choose, tool by tool, to always allow, ask each time, or block.
What data can Claude access through the StockZip connector?
Claude receives the records returned by the tool it calls, such as item names, SKUs, quantities, minimum levels, prices, notes and folders. Cost prices are included only when your StockZip role allows them. StockZip receives only the tool request needed to carry out your instruction, not your full conversation.
Does the connector follow team roles?
Yes. It uses your own StockZip login. People with view-only access get the reading tools only, and every change needs the matching StockZip permission.
What can the StockZip connector not do?
It cannot delete items, change prices or costs, create purchase orders or invoices, place orders, or process payments. Use the StockZip app for those tasks.
Can it change serial- or lot-tracked items?
No. Check-out, check-in and quantity changes are refused for serial- or lot-tracked items, so the right serials or lots are always chosen in the StockZip app.
Does checking stock in close an existing checkout?
No. Checking stock in adds to the quantity. To return a checkout and close its record, use the return step in the StockZip app.
What if two folders have the same name?
Claude can list your folders with their full paths, such as “Warehouse / Shelf B”. If a name matches more than one folder, StockZip does not move anything and Claude asks you which one you mean.
How do I disconnect Claude?
Disconnect StockZip in Claude’s connector settings, or revoke it in StockZip under Settings, Integrations, Connected AI apps. Access ends within about an hour.
Is StockZip in the Claude connectors directory?
Not yet. The directory listing is being prepared. Until it appears, add StockZip as a custom connector with the steps above; it works the same way.
